November's project was all about COP and the SDGs! COP 27 took place in Sharm El-Sheikh Egypt during the month of November and this was the perfect opportunity to look at policy development and agreements working towards the SDGs.
The Sustainable Development Goals or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future". The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by 2030.
Climate change is having a profound impact on the communities Practical Action works with. The way in which the world responds to the climate crisis is closely tied to our progress against the SDGs. As well as our work with communities on the ground, we showcase bottom-up adaptive work by people on the front line of climate change at global events such as COP27.
